Food for Thought

“We need to head home; we have some food to cook”
I say
as I bid “See you next time”
to a fellow parent and his
toddler
daughter
who live in the area
as I depart with
my own
little
rascals
from the local playground

How many people on this Earth
would willingly
move Heaven and Earth
with their bare hands
infinitely
to be able to utter and act upon
such words
so easily

Words
that for people like me
are wholly
unappreciated parts
of a blissful and blessed
routine
